The Garden & swimming pool
The house is surrounded by an acre of informal gardens, which you are welcome to stroll around. The gardens are very much ‘work in progress’, but contain many old fruit trees, such as mulberry, quince, fig, medlar, damson and varieties of apple, pear and plum.
Our dogs Archie and Rocco have the run of the back garden. They are very friendly, but can be quite lively, so please let us know if you would like to wander around the back garden without canine accompaniment and we can shut them inside. Our hens have their own part of the garden where they happily scratch around.
The swimming pool (36’ x 18’) sits next to the house, within a conservatory-style enclosure. The pool is solar heated, topped up by our biomass boiler at the start of the season, and if the weather is dull. The pool is normally warm enough to swim from May to the end of September.
Guests are welcome to swim between the hours of 7.00 and 10.00 a.m. and 3.00 and 8.00 p.m. The pool enclosure is kept locked at other times. For safety reasons, it is advisable not to swim alone. Drinking glasses and alcohol must not be taken into the pool enclosure. Guests are advised that swimming is entirely at their own risk.
The pool is now closed. (14/10/18)
You might like to relax on the vine-covered deck area or on the terrace at the side of the house.
